In the spring of 2017, the Oregon Pioneer building unveiled its new identity as the Hi-Lo Hotel.  This 120-room full service boutique hotel appeals to the cultivated leisure guest as well as the savvy business traveler by creating a unique blend of opposites. It also includes Alto Bajo, a modern Mexican restaurant unlike any other.


What We Look For...

We are looking for a quick and efficient Expediter/Food Runner to be part of our unique restaurant. This position would work in coordination with the dining room staff to facilitate prompt, efficient and friendly table service.


The Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizes the line according to the meal period. To have the right setup ready for special dishes.
  • Makes sure to have the line fully stocked with all tools/utensils/serviettes and plates that are needed throughout the service.
  • Keeps the bread station stocked with fresh warm bread during service time.
  • Coordinates constantly with line cooks and Chefs to make sure that all menu items listed on expo ticket are prepared and ready at the same time so an entire table course can be delivered at once.
  • Delivers dishes to the table to the right position (auctioning Menu Items is not allowed) and announces the dish as it is being placed in front of the guests.
  • Knows every single dish on the Menu and has the ability to describe the dish to the guests.
  • Clear and reset Dining Room tables in a quiet, orderly manner using correct bussing procedures, per restaurant policies, which may be revised from time to time.
  • Assist co-workers in setting up and breaking down for the next meal.
  • Includes IRD duties.


The Model Qualifications:

  • Previous hospitality or restaurant experience preferred.
